Storm Preparedness Tips During Storm

Use the telephone ONLY for emergency needs and to report dangerous conditions.

If flooding is likely, and time permits, move valuable household possessions from the floor.

If water has entered a garage or basement, do not walk through it.

Turn Around, Don’t Drown. Drive with caution; avoid driving or walking across flooded roads. Just 6-inches of moving water can knock down an individual and 24 inches of water can move a vehicle.

If you are driving and your car stalls, abandon your vehicle immediately and seek higher ground if you can safely do so.

If you are asked to leave your property, disconnect all electrical appliances prior to leaving.

Avoid downed power lines and broken gas lines.

Never use a generator inside the house, garage or near windows. Carbon dioxide can build up indoors and kill those inside.
